Ordinary cats, a scan that barely votes
Minyoung Kim paints black cats for what she calls "the contrast between how ordinary and how weird they are." A 2023 canvas, Love Hurts, shows a cat nestled into a woman's hair, claws down her back. The work looks inviting. Then a reflection is wrong, a paw reaches for a knife. She wants the familiar just a little off.
On Wednesday, August 26, 2026, we hold that canvas to one pressure: the picture we buy to settle a question, and the hold that already includes the claws.
STAT reports that coronary artery calcium scans have become a popular picture of the heart. In borderline cases the calcium can be a tiebreaker for a statin.
