He called it a heart
A seventy meter wave. Four deaths in one state.
Pope Leo XIV turned 71 on September 14 and made his first visit to the Vatican Apostolic Library as pontiff. He opened AQVA, the first chapter of a five year cycle called Catastrophe and Wonder. On the sixteenth century facade facing the Cortile del Belvedere, JR hung Diluvium: a black and white wave about seventy meters wide and thirty meters high, taken from Gustave Doré's 1866 engraving of the Flood. The Pope told the staff his mother had been a librarian. The Apostolic Library, he said, is a heart. Water is the collection's oldest fear.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2026, we hold that heart to one pressure: what a room still names as living when the flood is on the wall, and when four measles deaths in one state are the first in thirty five years.
Pennsylvania confirmed a fourth measles associated death, an unvaccinated 18 year old in Mifflin County, of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. A 40 year old unvaccinated woman died in Jefferson County. Two Lancaster infants died in August. About 693 cases. The last American year with four measles deaths was 1992. The Senate failed to take up the Clarity Act, 49 to 50, short of 60. Democrats named Trump's 1.4 billion in crypto last year. Marines with higher anti-NMDAR1 IgM scored about 25 percent lower on depression after injury. NASA will keep Observe the Moon Night on Saturday in Huntsville. Dario Amodei asked the frontier to brake. Trump phoned Jensen Huang onstage and called the danger a hoax. A Boston judge blocked a four year visa cap. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods will curate at Sotheby's. California moved to cut the permit line for heat pumps and solar.
A wave on a library that is still a heart. Four deaths a vaccine already knew how to stop. Convergence is not the show of catastrophe. It is whether the room still keeps what the flood would take.
